I took
a course in Economics in college. I had a wonderful Professor who
was excellent at explaining and turned me on to Economics even
though my undergraduate degree from Punjab University was in
Engineering. Later on I studied at University of Washington for my
Master's and Ph. D degrees. I worked for Boeing for 5 years in Seattle, then The
Aerospace Corporation for 6 years, and US Nuclear Regulatory
Commission for 5 years and finally became an entrepreneur in Silicon
Valley becoming CEO of several companies over the years.
For the last 7 years I was a CA Licensed Real Estate and Finance
Broker and was at the epicenter of the Housing Crisis and saw first
hand the brewing of the disaster. We have seen it all -both the ups
and downs and learnt from it all. We wanted to share what we learned
over the last 48 years in this country by writing this book.
My love for Mathematics and Politics also influenced my love for
Economics and stock markets. I guess I was wired like that. It did
not take me long to learn that they are all interconnected. I
studied the theories of Ludwig von Mises and Nobel laureate
Friedrich Hayek and then became adept at Elliott Wave Theory.
Today we are confronting unprecedented levels of debt, foreclosures,
bankruptcies, unemployment, energy depletion, foreign exchange
hysteria, illnesses treated without health insurance coverage—or
just not treated, unprecedented levels of homelessness, and by all
indications, not only the USA but the whole world is well on the
road to a re-run of 1929- style deflationary depression or something
much worse.
This book has been written in two parts. The first part is written
by Dr. Ken Kapur, outlining how we got here and how to get off this
tiger without getting hurt. The second part is written by Joy Kapur
author of "THIS IS NO SECRET" discussing the Quantum Theory of
Recessions. "THIS IS NO SECRET " is the Award-Winning Finalist in
the Eastern Religions category of the National Best Books 2008
Awards.
We all know nothing lasts forever, and birth, youth, maturity, old
age, and death are all cyclical. Whether it's a person, a town, a
country, a civilization, a planet or a galaxy, they all grow through
the same stages in this material world- like Yin and Yang in the
Chinese philosophy. It is the waxing and waning of the cosmic and
human realms as a process of harmonization ensuring a constant,
dynamic balance of all things. It's just a question of over what
time period it happens and how large it is. This period that we are
going through will also end. The question is how do we ride this
wave and enjoy the thrill of it while helping to reduce the pain for
others.
