Joy Kapur
Armed with eight dollars and a Masters in English Literature, Joy Kapur came to America in 1967 with truly little more than a shirt on his back. While studying for his MBA at San Franciscos Golden Gate University, Kapur worked in the evenings in a restaurant. After completing his MBA, his career began at Channel 2-KTVU, before opening a string of 8 restaurants in the Bay Area. He owns Maharani Restaurant in San Francisco. He had short stints in real estate and as a stockbroker. He has been a lifelong student of metaphysics and his outlook on life is innately spiritual.
He has written poetry books and has been writing articles on food and spiritually oriented topics. His most notable works include The Divine Perfume of Love an anthology of 108 mystical love poems, published in 2001 by IUniverse.com. Deck of Heart, is a collection of 54 poems on a deck of playing cards. Be My Valentine, a collection of 54 valentine-love poems and 54 paintings.
